The environment you sleep in can have an impact on how much rest you get. Your bedroom should be a comfortable temperature that isn’t too hot, so plan on turning up the air conditioning or using a fan to stay cool as needed. You should also keep your bedroom as dark as possible. To ensure that you're getting a good night's rest, check your mattress as well. You should shop around for a new one if you’ve been sleeping on a mattress that is worn. A new mattress can offer better support and more comfort, which should improve your sleep.<\/p>\n

Avoid Screens Before Bedtime<\/h2>\n

Staring at a phone, tablet, or TV screen before bedtime can make it harder for you to fall asleep. Depending on what you’re doing, such as watching a video or playing a game, these devices can give you too much mental stimulation when your brain should be less active. You should do a calmer or quieter activity, such as reading a book, within a couple of hours of going to bed. Focusing on this type of activity helps your brain settle down before bedtime, which should help you fall asleep more easily.<\/p>\n

Exercise During the Day<\/h2>\n

Physical activity can help you sleep better at night. Doing a workout earlier in the day can wear you out so that you’re able to get plenty of sleep later on.
