Refreshing Cocktail Recipes for Summer<\/h1>\n

Cucumber Tom Collins<\/h2>\n

Tom Collins is one of those old-school cocktails that you see a lot in movies, but it is coming back with a modern twist.<\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n

• ¼ cup superfine sugar<\/li>\n
• 1 ½ cup chilled gin<\/li>\n
• 1 unpeeled cucumber<\/li>\n
• Thin lemon slices<\/li>\n
• Ice<\/li>\n
• Chilled soda water<\/li>\n
• Mint leaf garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  1. Mix together the sugar, juice, and gin in a jug or pitcher. Stir until all the sugar dissolves.<\/li>\n
  2. Fill highball glasses about three-quarters of the way with ice; then add lemon and cucumber slices to the ice.<\/li>\n
  3. Put a tray of ice into the gin mixture; then strain it into the glasses.<\/li>\n
  4. Add a splash of soda water and mint leaves in glasses as a garnish.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     Espresso Martini<\/h2>\n

     Espresso martinis have been around for a while now, especially in Europe.<\/p>\n

     Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n

     • 1\u2153 parts vodka<\/li>\n
     • \u2154 part coffee liqueur<\/li>\n
     • \u2154 part espresso coffee<\/li>\n
     • Whole coffee beans for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

       Like most martinis, it’s just a matter of pouring the ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and straining the contents into a martini glass.<\/p>\n

       Aquavit and Tonic<\/h2>\n

       <\/p>\n

       Straight out of Scandinavia, just a few thousand miles from Flagstaff apartments, comes a spice-and-herb-flavored spirit made from caraway and dill seeds. For those tired of the same-old, same-old, cocktails made with aquavit are becoming a big hit this year, including this simple drink.<\/p>\n

       Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n

       • Ice<\/li>\n
       • Aquavit<\/li>\n
       • Tonic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

         Fill a highball glass with ice, and pour in the tonic; then splash in some aquavit. Add a garnish.  <\/p>\n
