If you live in Arizona, you already know that springtime in our area can bring out a surprising variety of creativity – from the annual Zuni art festival to the amazing exhibit of artwork made entirely of recycled objects.  Why not get in on the creativity yourself?  We’ve compiled five fun DIY Spring projects that may bring out your inner artist.<\/p>\n

Hanging Colander Planter<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A pretty metal colander can be spray painted and hung with twine on your patio to make a sweet and simple hanging planter.  Line the bottom with sheet moss and potting soil and a season fern or flower. <\/p>\n

Springtime Throw Pillows<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Throw pillows are the perfect first time sewing project and can be made in colors or patterns to match the season.  One yard of fabric can make a 16”x16” throw pillow.<\/p>\n

Feed The Birds<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You can make beautiful bird seed rings using nothing more than gelatin and bird seed mix and a donut pan.  Use twine to string them outside where you’d like to see some new feathered friends. <\/p>\n

Brighten Your Bedroom<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Paint four patterned doormats and frame them in wood, to make a beautiful wall hanging headboard for your bed.  Also easy to repaint for those who like to change their decor often!<\/p>\n

Affordable Artwork<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This easy art installation gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Simply fold a shower curtain with a print or picture you like over a simple wooden frame, stapling it down on the back.  Hang and enjoy!<\/p>\n
