Canister Vacuums
A canister vac has a canister that sits on the floor. A hose and vacuum head are connected to it. When you use this type, you roll the wheeled canister after you as you clean. However, this is one of the vacuum types that can take up the most floor space. They tend to have large canisters as well as a lot of hose to take care of. Upright Vacuums
An upright vacuum is all one unit, and it's considerably taller than a canister vac. However, the upright structure may be rather large. In addition, these are among the loudest vacuum types. Stick Vacuums

They are extremely easy to store, as they are thin enough to put them virtually anywhere. They also tend to be quieter than both canister and upright vacuum types. These come in both cordless style and corded. The cordless style is especially great for easy use and storage.
