BeerOur apartments in Flagstaff, conveniently located off I-40, are just minutes from downtown. And as you've surely heard, Flagstaff has a great microbrewery scene. Here we highlight just four popular spots of many!

Mother Road Brewing Company

Located at 7 S. Mikes Pike St., Mother Road Brewing Company is a friendly spot and serves an outstanding selection with local pride. The focus is truly on beer. Proof? There's no kitchen. Ah, but never fear. Everyone orders pizza from the restaurant next door and it comes right to your table. Mother Road is recommended if you're seeking great beers for great prices.

LumberYard Brewing Company

You'll find LumberYard Brewing Company at 5 S. San Francisco St. No frills here. Just plenty of good food, refreshing local brews on tap, and top-notch service in a wholesome and fun atmosphere. OK, there are a few frills: Berry Bramble Brew or a Peach Bourbon Mule, anyone? On weekends, after the kitchen closes, the staff lights up the fire pit out on the patio. Sweet!

Historic Brewing Company

Historic Brewing Company, at 4366 E. Huntington Dr., starts serving in the afternoons, in a taproom and the beer garden. Try the Alternative Facts double IPA when it's on draft. Slightly reminiscent of mango, it'll go down easy and bring you back. Look for the taco truck Thursday through Saturday.

Beaver Street Brewery

The quinoa and Portobello mushroom tacos are an awesome accompaniment to one of the splendid brews at Beaver Street Brewery, which is on—you guessed it—Beaver Street. 11 S. Beaver St., to be exact. This pub has a great, big menu. This is an excellent spot for vegan pizza in Flagstaff, too!

Print your Beer Trail Passport. Get nine stamps at your own pace. Then, take it to the Flagstaff Visitors' Center for your free souvenir glass. Ready to join our community? We'll drink to that! Contact us at Country Club Terrace to schedule a tour of our Flagstaff apartments.

When you love hiking, there are many great opportunities in the Flagstaff area throughout the year to go for a wonderful hike. Before you head out on one of the area trails, it's important to be prepared. Here are seven hiking essentials we recommend before you head out for your next hike.

Hiking Essentials

1.  Wear the right footwear.  Hiking boots that protect your ankles are the best hiking footwear. Sneakers are a suitable alternative.

2. Have a waterproof jacket. A windbreaker that is also waterproof is perfect for outdoor hikes. If you get stuck in the rain, you'll keep your body mostly dry.

3. Map and compass. Even if you have a smartphone with GPS, you may not always have a signal. Pay attention to your surroundings and learn how to use a traditional map and compass.

4. Water. It can get hot quickly hiking in Flagstaff. Always make sure you carry enough water with you. You can also bring water purification tablets or a small filtration system to provide you with clean water.

5. Protein bars. Even when you go for a short hike, a handy snack is a good idea. If you get lost, you'll have some nourishment with you.

6. Reflecting mirror. You can use this mirror if you need to signal for help. You could also bring a thin reflective blanket that retains body heat and is easy to spot, if necessary.

7. Matches or lighter. The ability to start a fire can make a big difference if you get stuck hiking overnight. If you bring matches, make sure they stay dry.

If you are searching for apartments in Flagstaff, Arizona it's time to call (844) 832-9940 to see what Country Club Terrace has to offer you. You will find your new home at our comfortable community!

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and when you head to the right joint, it’s the most delicious meal of the day, too. If you’re searching for a tasty way to break your fast in Flagstaff, here are four of the best places to head. Just remember to bring your to-go mug and doggy bag, because you’re not going to want to leave anything behind!

Brandy's Restaurant & Bakery

Classic baked goods, breakfast, brunch, lunch and coffee combine to make Brandy’s Restaurant and Bakery one of the most beloved joints in the city. Breakfast starts at 6:30 for you early birds, so you can jet off to work or school with a full meal under your belt, and it’s even served on holidays.

MartAnne's Burrito Palace

This Mexican eatery is so legit it doesn’t even have a website. Whether you’re looking to fill up fast or take it slow, a generous portion of chilaquiles or huevos rancheros will do the trick!

Wildflower Bread Company

Any place with the word “bread” in the name is fine by us. Wildflower Bread Company is no exception, brimming over with egg options, French toast and breakfast bowls. Yum!

Macy's Fresh Roasted Coffee

Naturally, you’ll find coffee galore at Macy’s, but you’ll find so much more as well. Think couscous served warm with dried fruits, homemade granola, waffles, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. Now you can come hungry, leave happy without going to IHOP.

Now that you’re ready to make our fine city your own, it’s time to take a look at your options for Flagstaff apartments. The comfortable floor plans, lovely grounds and friendly service make Country Club Terrace an excellent place to call home. If you’re ready to learn more, please feel free to get in touch with us today!

starry nightEveryone loves a good stargazing session, but Flagstaff, Arizona has some of the best options in the entire United States—and the entire world. Its dry climate and relatively sparse population make for excellent nighttime viewing, especially if you know where to go. Here are a few of the best options to put on the bucket list.

The Grand Canyon

If you’re lucky enough to get to go to the Star Party, you’ll see some truly amazing sights. With a telescope, you can see star clusters, planets and distant galaxies, with the odd nebula thrown in for effect. It’s a can’t-miss experience. Of course, the Grand Canyon is an excellent option for stargazing any other time of the year as well, and only about an hour and a half from Flagstaff.

Lowell Observatory

Whoever said stargazing had to be outdoors? Lowell Observatory is a non-profit research institution dedicated to scientific progress and astronomy education, and its huge telescopes are truly amazing to behold. Get a good look at those stars by booking a tour or a private group event.

Buffalo Park

Another fantastic wilderness space is Buffalo Park. Removed from the muted city lights of Flagstaff, it is a perfect spot for witnessing the Milky Way in all its glory. Plus, it has its own annual star party, complete with sunset tours, naked-eye viewing and 30 telescopes for getting up close and personal with the cosmos.

Your Own Backyard

Ever since the observatory was established back in the '80s, Flagstaff has worked hard to keep its skies dark, in order to facilitate excellent viewing. That means on most clear nights, you can simply step outside and watch those twinkling lights pop out one by one, then roll across the heavens. Try it next time you’re bored for the evening; you might be surprised.

Nothing makes apartment living a blast like having access to so many natural wonders nearby. If you’re looking to spend some time enjoying Mother Nature’s marvels, stargazing is the way to go. Come learn more about the opportunities near you, as well as the many other amenities our Flagstaff apartments at Country Club Terrace have to offer. We look forward to making you a part of the family!

The Center for Disease Control recommends that kids get a minimum of one hour of physical activity each day.  Why not make it a family affair on these hiking trails located just minutes from our Country Club Terrace apartments in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Old Caves Crater Trail

This 2.4-mile route is perfect for a day trip with the family.  Pack a lunch and spend some time exploring the caves before heading back home.

Fat Man’s Loop

Don’t let the name fool you; you’re sure to get your exercise on the 2.5-mile trail.  The trail gets its name from a tight squeeze between the boulders along the trail’s path.  You’ll enjoy splendid views of Mt. Elden’s lava cliffs and Doney Park.

Lamar Haines Loop

For a trip that’s a little less lengthy, head out to the Veit Springs Trail and Lamar Haines Loop.  There are plenty of little places to explore along the way including the site of Ludwig Veit’s cabin, in addition to rock pictographs and other natural wonders.

Trek to the Top of Slate Mountain

The trail is a little longer than five miles round-trip, but the view at the top makes it all worthwhile.  Once you reach the summit, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the northern rim of the Grand Canyon, San Francisco peaks and Kendrick mountain. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic lunch with the kids before your return trip.

Red Mountain Trail

Ever seen a natural amphitheater? You’ll enjoy exploring one along the Red Mountain Trail. If you have small children, be ready to give them a boost at the short ladder you encounter just before the end of the trail.

Exercise can be a fun family event with one of these day trip adventures to explore some of Arizona’s natural wonders.
